Top of the bots – revisited
Symantec’s latest threat report (19 September) shows that not much has changed since my post in March.
The UK is once again ‘top of the bots’ with the highest proportion of known bot-infected computers worldwide. During the second half of 2004, the UK led all other countries with 26 per cent of bot-infected computers. This has risen to 32 per cent during the first six months of 2005. Bot network activity has increased from below 5,000 bots per day in December 2004 to an average of 10,352 during this reporting period.
