Content supplier admits to contract with popup biller Platte
Is there/isn’t there a contract between Platte International (Platte Media) and the British Internet Broadcasting Company (BiBC)? My story today – Content supplier admits to contract with popup biller Platte – reveals that there is (but not for Getfilmsnow).
1.) tried to download 3 day free trail for Platte and it failed.
2.) Then their icon appeared on my laptop.
3.) Contacted them when recieved a bill for £29.99 for system not used.
4.) 1 week latetr removal code arrived and now removed.
5.) another bill arrived made contact with customer service and spoke to guy called George on the 27th. he told me I had watched 1 filem twice on the 19th July and my internet provided is Opeltelecom. Pointed out it was not and none of the other companeis he quoted SKY, VRIGIN,TALK TALK.In fact it is AOL but did not tell them that yet.
6.) Wrote 2nd letter to their PIA dept but no reply yet. Do you know rthe CEO name and address so can start sending him or her letters until they stop. Appears to be aload of thugs that hide behind some so caleld legal niceity and makes life miserable.
Don’t download thier 3 day free service it is a con trick.
Best regards

[Point 5 above- it's easy to find out your ISP from the IP address - took me about five seconds. The IP address is recorded by Platte as part of the sign-up and is quoted in the access logs they send out. But it's not possible for Platte to find your postal address from your IP address. Point 6: The Chief Executive Officer of Platte International Ltd (UK registered) company is Ashley Bateup. The contact details are on plattemedia.com. Perhaps you should write one letter (not lots!) and politely explain your problem. While your experience makes you think ill of Platte Media, I expect they will resolve it for you as you clearly wanted to try their films (which do work) -Michael]
I have a touchpad and by misstake it clicked and now Im a member of Plattemedia. I have it installed on my laptop. Help me! I have tried to call them but they won’t answer me! I will not pay anything. I am worried alot now. Can they do like this to people =S
[Unless something has changed, Platte has an unmistakable sign-up process that needs more than one mistaken finger press! In Platte exits, leaving questions, we said Platte could be removed using Symantec, Trend (free HouseCall), or Prevx products. That'll help. -Michael]
